Košice-Šaca Hospital has gained the prestigious title of FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence.  The international soccer federation FIFA awards this title only to the best medical workplaces in the world.

Through this award, Košice-Šaca Hospital also represents Slovakia in joining the company of the most prestigious sports-medicine centers in the world. The accreditation as a FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence is the culmination of the efforts by the team of doctors who set themselves the goal more than three years ago of making Košice-Šaca Hospital one of the best centers for sports medicine in the world. The official inauguration took place on the Hospital premises on July 1, 2016.
