Steel with a thin organic coating provides an effective solution for applications where traditionally passivated or oiled galvanised material is used, particularly where improved corrosion resistance and maintaining aesthetic appearance after handling is required.
It is suitable for both interior and exterior applications.
The adhesion to polyurethane foams also makes thin organic coated steels a suitable solution for sandwich panels with insulation.
PARAMETERS
Chemical composition: mixture of inorganic and organic components, water dilutable, environmentally friendly, RoHS compliant
Appearance: the final coating may be transparent or grey
Coating weight: 1.0 - 2.5 g/m2
Coating thickness: 0.8 - 2.2 µm
Salt spray test (EN ISO 9227): 72 hours without white corrosion on the surface
MAIN BENEFITS
Compared to HDG with passivation, steel with the TOC have 3x higher corrosion resistance and maintain the same great weldability. It reduces the coefficient of friction by one third (f<0.15) compared to conventional press oils.
