Business Europe, an organization bringing together employer and industry associations from all over Europe, has called an extraordinary meeting in Milan, Italy, in response to the referendum on so-called Brexit. For European institutions Business Europe is the biggest partner representing industrial interests.
At the meeting, which started yesterday, the members are discussing how to deal with the situation which has emerged with regard to the requirements of exchange of goods, international trade and development of business. Although there are as yet many open questions about the impact of the referendum, efforts must start being made today to minimize the damage which the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the EU could cause to trade relations. Slovakia is being represented at the meeting by U. S. Steel Košice Vice President External Affirs, Administration and Business Development Miroslav Kiraľvarga, who is also President of the National Union of Employers.
