Following the renovation of the Hot Rolling Mill shipping section, including the hot wide-strip train, the roller grinding shop and the pre-rolling hall, another steelworks hall has been equipped with economical LED lighting.

This time it was the central mechanics workshops of the Mechanika Division, and the project was officially handed over at a meeting of the suppliers and contractors at the workshops on the last day of January this year. According to Viktor Čurný, coordinator for special activities in the department of Director Innovation and Energy Strategy, the project involved replacing the original arc lights with 1197 LED light units, not only for the sake of saving on the consumption of electrical power, but also to increase the intensity of illumination in the workshops and thus improve the working conditions for the employees there.

Project manager Peter Štekláč pointed out that the previous projects in the Hot Rolling Mill and shipping section had been clearly justified, as monthly costs monitoring confirmed that more than one million euros had already been saved.
