Experiences and impressions of our colleagues from the ŠFK concert

On Thursday, the concert of the State Philharmonic Košice was enjoyed by almost 80 steelworkers including partners. Due to the great interest, the general director Lucia Potokárová increased the number of free honorary tickets from 60 by another 20. It was for those interested who did not mind sitting in the first rows, which are usually not occupied during concerts.

How did the exceptional combination of three solo instruments in Ludwig van Beethoven's Triple Concerto in C major, which combined the orchestral dimension with the virtuoso parts of the violin, cello and piano of our colleagues, appeal?

Marián Bercik

From the moment I got the tickets for this concert, I knew it would be something amazing. A pause for a while, relaxation, emotions, passion. Something unreal. I've been listening exclusively to a different style of music for a long time, but the orchestral concert came in very handy. Something completely different from the bass from the speakers at the festival. I was smiling all the time. I'm very happy about this experience.

Ján Šima

I admit that the word "Triple Concerto" in the name of the event was missing in my vocabulary, but after reading the bulletin, everything was clear to me. The very place in the auditorium from where I watched the performance did not allow me to enjoy the view of the performer with the cello (she was covered by the piano) and also the fingering on the piano, but the non-verbal expression of the artists did not go unnoticed. They showed their uniqueness and it was a real pleasure for the ears and soul. And as for the second part, the physical and artistic performance of the ensemble, as always, was appreciated by the auditorium with a stand up.

Diana Mašľanová

The concert was, as always, beautiful, especially after the break it was it: fresh, changing, modern and full of all kinds of musical instruments (the drum was also present ).

Juraj Guba

Both parts of the concert were an experience and my colleague Peter Protivňák and  I are grateful that we could participate in it. During the first part of Beethoven, I had his image in my head all the time, which I remember from my childhood at the Bernolákova Art School. It hung in the classroom on the floor behind the concert hall. I admired his mane and with great luck I will grow one one one day. The pianist reminded me a bit of him, because his mastery was also strengthened by his artistic appearance and gestures. During the second part, I was looking at the conductor all the time. By bending a finger on his left hand, he was able to direct the whole section.

Antónia Kalapošová

We enjoyed the evening very much, the concert was full of emotions. It was especially interesting to watch the Philharmonic Orchestra from the front row, to see their facial expressions and enthusiasm throughout the concert, which I had never noticed from the farther seats before.

Zuzana Kolesárová

I liked Beethoven's Triple Concerto very much, I was interested in the combination of musical instruments: violin, cello and piano, their beautiful, clear sounds and mutual interaction. The performance of the whole orchestra as well as the conductor in both parts was fabulous and charming.

Vladimír Adamčo

Cyrano de Bergerac, symphonic suite, op. 55 by the Czech composer Josef Bohuslav Foerster is made of a different dough than from other Czech composers from the period at the turn of the last century. A grandiose, top-notch suite. The orchestra was completely immersed in it and absolutely perfectly harmonized. This concert was an extraordinary musical experience. Praise goes to the Philharmonic for its excellent selection.

Miroslav Krištofik
My wife and I visited the concert and we had a triple experience: the works of the composers, the performance of the soloists and clearly the performance of the ŠFK orchestra, which interpreted the individual works musically and expressively perfectly.

Jaroslav Guľaši

The concert was attended by my daughter Radka with her boyfriend. I was at another cultural event at that time. My daughter was very satisfied. They liked it very much. They hadn't experienced such a beautiful musical evening for a long time.

Elena Bohunická

I don't know if I can admit that the last time I was in the House of Arts was at the Funky Ball and that was really a very, very long time ago. Back in the days of socialism.  But as for yesterday's concert - it was all great. The atmosphere, it was something amazing. People listened quietly - no one disturbed with phone calls, talking, rustling and the like, as is the case in the cinema, for example. And before the performance, I was "amused" by the announcement that we should turn off not only our mobile phones, but also our smart watches. But whatever, the times are like that. The orchestra was really one unit that was "controlled" by the conductor. But the interplay was mutual. Of course, I didn't know anything from those songs, I'm not a big listener of classical music. Maybe that's why I liked the second part more, because for me, as an "ordinary" occasional listener, maybe more of a "non-listener" of classical music, the whole thing was more in tune, it had more rhythm and such a symbiosis that it belongs together. And in the second part, more musicians played, so it was all more "spectacular".

The concert was also attended by a large group of young colleagues from NextGen. The photo shows some of them. What were their impressions?

Matúš Lech

Observation from my wife: A very pleasant experience, dramatic music alternating with calmer music, excellent performances of musicians, fascinating interplay, inspiring and emotional!

Zuzana Nemetová

Thank you very much for this opportunity and for a great experience. I completely turned off my brain for two hours and just admired what these musicians could do. Not to mention the geniuses who composed such music.

Marek Petrilák

To be honest, I'm not very familiar with classical music, but the evening with my wife at the "Beethoven Triple Concert" was a strong cultural experience for us. The whole thing sounded very good and sometimes even gave us goosebumps. What we liked the most was that it wasn't boring, which I was maybe a little worried about. On the contrary, it had energy and emotion that completely absorbed us. It was a nice evening, a little different from ordinary days, and even though I'm not an expert in classical music, it was definitely worth it and we like to repeat it sometime.

The cover photo is from Jana Šidlíková, who also rated the concert as great.
