It took three days at the end of last month to carry out the third supervisory audit of U. S. Steel Košice's Energy Management System (EMS) in line with the EN ISO 50001 standard. The auditors from the TÜV SÜD Slovakia certification company presented their conclusins at a meeting in the Research and Development conference room on Friday afternoon, March 24, which was attended by USSK Vice President Subsidiaries and Services Elena Petrášková, Vice President Operations Marcel Novosad, Vice President Human Resources Martin Pitorák, General Managers and Directors of the divisional plants and sections involved, as well as other Company managers.
“Our conclusion from the supervisory audit for the purposes of the certification authority will be positive, which means that your Company can continue using the current EMS certificate,” said Chief Auditor Marián Harčarik in his summing-up presentation. “We have not found any deviations from the standard in your Company, or critical points which would make us change our conclusion,” he added, and emphasized further advances made by U. S. Steel Košice along the road of continuous improvement, as the audit fully confirms.
