The Košice Peace Marathon is a very popular event among U. S. Steel Košice employees, enabling them to relax after hard work in the steelmaking company. On October 17, several dozens of those who represented the company as athletes, volunteers or co-organizers met at the company premises.

Scott Buckiso, President of U. S. Steel Košice acknowledged the day-to-day work of USSK employees, who contribute to the company’s success and enable us to be the main partner of the Košice Peace Marathon, support the U. S. Steel Family Run minimarathon and make Košice city visible in Slovakia and abroad through this great sports event. He also mentioned our customers, who love to come and compete in relay teams with us, as well as children from foster homes, who we invite regularly to experience the unique atmosphere and get a valued trophy, a minimarathon medal. “Together we create one big family which helps to make things better,” said Scott Buckiso, stressing the values of team cooperation. He thanked our volunteers, who handed over thousands of glasses with water at a refreshment station, and he also acknowledged those employees who contributed to the excellent event results and achieved best times in the marathon (Alžbeta Tiszová), half-marathon (Milan Lacko and Erika Billá) and inline race (Lucia Petrovičová and Jaroslav Ficeri).
