U. S. Steel Kosice will support young hockey players
Kosice, May 29, 2006 - U. S. Steel Kosice will give a great chance to young ice-hockey players in the next couple of weeks. The fact that there is a lot of them is proved by the number of Slovak boys wearing hockey jerseys of different foreign clubs in the NHL. Unfortunately talent is not enough. Ice hockey is one of the expensive sports and the way from discovering a talent to becoming a successful hockey player is hard. To prevent social background and conditions limiting the chances for talented youth, U. S. Steel Kosice has prepared Young Hockey Players Support Program. In cooperation with HC Kosice the Program will allow children from socially-disadvantaged families to play hockey. The Company will pay for training and part of the sport gear for the selected pre-school and school-age boys who will meet the pre-determined conditions. The Criteria for joining the program are: age from 5 and half to 8 years, talent, physical condition, disadvantaged family background of applicant, suitable school results and permanent residence in East Slovakia. The program will start with invitations to all qualifying children, and than a panel consisting of coaches from HC Kosice, Skultetyho Sports School as well as representatives of USSK will later select the most talented boys.
