According to the recent decision by the controlling committee of the Safe Company program overseen by the Director General of the National Labour Inspectorate, which is one of the tools for implementing an effective system of occupational safety and health management and improving OSH standards among employers in Slovakia, on September 30 of this year our subsidiary company U. S. Steel Obalservis s.r.o. fulfilled the criteria stipulated for the granting of the certificate and title of Safe Company.

The confirmation of extension of this certificate (as Obalservis gained it for the first time back in 2008) was accepted by General Manager Peter Bílek on October 22 at the conference entitled Culture of Safety, held in the Saffron Hotel in Bratislava with active participation by representatives of the Košice steelworks as well, and organized by the National Labour Inspectorate in cooperation with the European OSH Agency.
