TOGETHER WE CHANGE OUR REGION FOR THE BETTER

Košice, 16 April 2025 – The company U. S. Steel Košice, s.r.o. has released the names of organizations and projects which shall receive support as part of the Together for the Region 2025 grant program. A total of almost €30,000 will be used this year to support 10 projects from the Košice and Prešov regions geared towards education and leisure-time activities for children, improving safety, protection of the environment and regional uniqueness. A specific feature of all projects is the active involvement of the employees of the steelmaking company. The grant program Together for the Region has been helping to develop community life in the region for 18 years.

Thanks to support from the program, a relaxation zone will be created in Kamenica nad Cirochou, an outdoor fitness area in the village of Lúčka, and the village of Cestice will improve its municipal park. A gazebo will be built in Družstevná pri Hornáde and Kysak Castle will become more accessible to tourists. Revitalization of the athletic oval, football field and jumping court at the school ground of the Elementary School of Jozef Urban in Košice will begin. Other projects are focused on children and youth, their sports activities, and a positive relationship with nature. In 18 years, 161 projects have received support from the program, totaling over 410,000 euros.

• OZ "Našim deťom" pri ZŠ Jenisejská – Sport unites the school community – 2 973 €
• Parents' Association at the Kindergarten U veselých medvedíkov – Teddy bears protect and enhance their surroundings – 3 000 €
• Elementary School, Školská 94, Trstené pri Hornáde - In the shade of the trees – 3 000 €
