September was reserved once again for the Summer Games of the employees of U. S. Steel Košice. The 26th edition of these annual Games was held from September 11 to 17. Steelmakers competed in thirteen sporting disciplines, starting with golf on September 11 on the course at Malá Ida.
The official Opening Ceremony took place on USSK premises on September 14, and the Games proper started the same day. This time they again included table-tennis and volleyball, the latter tournament taking place after an absence of several years in the students' gyms on Jedlíková Street. The runners lined up for the 10-kilometer race in the early morning of the 17th, and later the same day the in-line skaters and cyclists compared their strengths, and the chess and football-tennis tournaments were played.
The prize-giving ceremony was held at 6 pm on September 17 in the Spoločenský pavilón social events center.
Both U. S. Steel Košice Summer and Winter Sports Games are part of the Košice European City of Sport project in 2016.
