Effective January 12, 2018 Silvia Gaálová, who recently served as General Manager Analysis and Statistics, was appointed the Vice President & Chief Financial Officer U. S. Steel Košice. She will succeed Samir Kalra who will be relocating to Houston as Chief Financial Officer for U. S. Steel Tubular business.

Silvia Gaálová began her career at U. S. Steel Kosice in 2002 after gaining several years of experience with global consulting firms. Silvia has broad experience across the Financial organization, her most recent position as General Manager Analysis and Statistics.

Silvia graduated at University of Economy in Bratislava in 1997 and earned master’s degree in Corporate Economics. Silvia is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
