The Spoločenský pavilón social center was the venue last Wednesday, March 6, for the official evaluation event for the best Carnegie projects at U. S. Steel Košice in 2018. The presentation of awards for the eighteen most productive solutions in the categories of Safety, Increasing Revenues and Cash, Reducing Costs, Improving Quality, Innovation, and Energy and Environment involved the top managers of the Company, leaders and members of the research teams, and representatives of the labor organizations.
“Doing business in our sector is very demanding, and what you achieved last year really deserves our thanks. It is also proof that it is possible to change the ingrained habits of the past, and to do things differently,” USSK President Jim Bruno told the steelmakers receiving the awards. The wide spectrum of teams of specialists at the steelworks, who are responsible together with the rest of the employees for last year's outstandingly successful results in the Carnegie Way transformation process, proved once again that the Košice steelmakers perform excellent work based on a good deal of effort.
