On Sunday, they will light up the Christmas tree on Hlavná Street

On the first Sunday of Advent, December 1 at 4:00 p.m., the 29th year of the popular Košice Fairytale Christmas will start with the lighting of the Christmas tree.

The city center will be transformed into a "Christmas Town" with the main stage at the Immaculata sculpture. Christmas programs will start on Hlavná Street every day until December 23 from 5:00 p.m.

The dominant feature of the city will be a 37-year-old and 15-meter-high prickly spruce, which has been in place for a week and is just waiting for the ceremonial lighting of 14 thousand light points.

The second landmark will be near the Dargov Department Store Košické oko – a sightseeing carousel that Košice residents will be able to use until the Three Kings.  Of course, there will also be stalls with refreshments and products of skilled and creative craftsmen.

In the run-up to Christmas, people are somehow closer to each other and reach deeper into their wallets to help those who are dependent on the help of others.

Therefore, there will also be a stand marked as Mayor's Punch among the stands. The proceeds from its sale will help several charities and non-profit organizations.

And exactly opposite will be our traditional, our charity stand U. S. Steel Košice, where the facilities of the Archdiocesan Caritas Košice, a dog shelter and a number of other organizations will alternate.

U. S. Steel Košice is also a sponsor of this year's Košice Fairytale Christmas.

More about the program can be found in the bulletin at this link:
