Samir Kalra joined U. S. Steel in November 2016 to serve as chief financial officer, Europe. Prior to joining U. S. Steel, Mr. Kalra served as vice president finance and treasurer at Essar Steel Minnesota in New York from November 2012 to October 2016. Mr. Kalra also served in several leadership positions with ArcelorMittal in Poland, United Kingdom and Luxembourg from 2004 to 2012 including his last role as chief financial officer of ArcelorMittal International S.A. from June 2009 to October 2012. Mr. Kalra spent the early part of his career in the Assurance and Advisory Services division of Ernst and Young in New Delhi, India from 1998 to 2002.

Mr. Kalra earned his bachelor’s degree in Commerce from University of Delhi, India in 1998 and received an MBA in Finance from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, India in 2004. Mr. Kalra is also a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
