Starting in September 2017, U. S. Steel Košice in cooperation with the international company ISN will be introducing new rules for working with external contractors which are necessitated by the effort to increase occupational safety. Currently the department of GM Procurement is sending letters to a group of around a hundred contractors who have shown themselves to be at greatest risk in recent months from the point of view of maintaining safety.

Progressively however, all external contractors whose employees work in areas involving fire risk or the presence of dangerous gases or chemical substances will have to be registered in the ISNetworld database. Ultimately moreover, everyone who wants to continue providing their services to USSK will need to be registered in the ISNetworld database and fulfill strict qualification criteria. At the same time the Company reserves the right to work in the future only with the best contractors.
