With nearly 250 specialists representing 40 firms from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany and Poland in attendance, Štrbské Pleso was the venue on May 30 and 31 this year for the 17th edition of the annual international conference called National Maintenance Forum 2017. The organizer of this event was the Slovak Maintenance Society, an association of companies supporting development in the fields of technology, quality and safety in maintenance activities. U. S. Steel Košice has been a founder member of the Society since the year 2000. Discussions were divided into sections dealing with best practice and management of maintenance work, information technology in maintenance, safety in maintenance, and progressive technologies and technical diagnostics in maintenance. Presentations heard at the conference included lectures by U. S. Steel Košice: Repairs Coordination Director Rastislav Milan outlined the steel industry's expectations regarding Industry 4.0, and Milan Haluška from Equipment Reliability spoke about triboservice in the context of USSK.
