For twenty-three days, the charity hut of U. S. Steel Košice was part of the Christmas markets in our city. We provided space in it to 11 organizations and civic associations, which offered mainly various small, decorative items, tree decorations, ceramic products, magnets or postcards for a symbolic contribution.

Together, they collected more than 16,000 euros!

Historically, the Union of Mutual Aid of People and Dogs has achieved the greatest success. They stayed at the stall for three days, offering magnets with dogs, calendars and various other trinkets. Their three-day balance is an incredible 6,040 euros.  

We asked Romana Šerfelová how satisfied she is with the result of the fundraiser and how they will use the money raised: "I am very satisfied, I really did not expect such a result and I was surprised. It was a record year for us. We will use the collected money mainly for feed. We currently have about 220 dogs in the shelter. We are very grateful to U. S. Steel Košice for this opportunity."

In two days at the charity stand of U. S. Steel Košice, the Art School, Kováčska 34, added 2,882 euros to the "piggy bank".

Marko Bačo , the headmaster of the school, summed up his impressions as follows: "We offered small, Christmas ceramic decorations for the tree, but also various animals, St. Nicholas' Day, small nativity scenes, churches and houses, which were made by the students of our ceramics department. They were a great success. We also offered calendars with the works of our students and New Year's greetings created from graphics, original graphic sheets with various Košice motifs and monuments.  In 10 years, we already have a circle of regular customers who come to us for these products and supplement their collection of Christmas decorations created by the warmth of children's hands, their imagination and talent. I am very satisfied with the amount raised, it was more than last year. And we thought that last year could not be surpassed.  We will use the collected money to buy clay, glaze, drawings, paints, brushes, pencils... We thank U. S. Steel Košice for this opportunity and we will look forward to it again next year."

The Archdiocesan Caritas of Košice offered handmade products to its clients during the first ten days. In total, they collected 3,539.85 euros, which will be used to support clients in its facilities.

A newcomer to our charity stand was the civic association Od srdca, they collected 872 euros in two days.

Andrea Miková from OZ Od srdca: "We offered our own products - decorative items, moss paintings, magnets and other Christmas-themed trinkets, which we also have as an additional assortment in our café Od srdca, where, of course, there is more interest in coffee and cakes. That is why we are glad that we had the opportunity to offer our products elsewhere. We are very happy that your scholarship holders – volunteers, who helped us a lot, were with us at the stand. With the money collected, we will buy material for other products, this time with an Easter theme.  I would be very happy if we could be at your stand this year as well."
