They say that good things take a long time to come. We supported the project From the love of movement with a grant from the Together for the Region program in 2023. The civic association of parents at the elementary school in Trstene near Hornad successfully implemented it during the past summer, despite the problems with the construction. In the current school year, it is already serving those for whom it was intended. To children.

The aim of the project was to expand the sports opportunities of children in the village of Trstene near Hornad, by setting up an outdoor playground. Andrea Liptáková, chairwoman of the parents' association at elementary school in Trstene pri Hornáde, said more:

"During the pandemic period, many children got used to comfort and disliked sports. For some children, the mere idea of ​​physical education was scary. The idea of ​​building a workout field came from primary school teachers who wanted to respond to this situation."

The playground is located on the grounds of the elementary school. However, a lot of work preceded its installation. Landscaping, excavation work for installing reinforced concrete footings, concreting. Approximately two hundred hours were worked here by volunteers from among the parents of primary school students, as well as our colleagues from USSK. The coordinator of the project was Rastislav Lipták, shift foreman electrician from Steelworks Division plant. As he mentioned, there was no shortage of volunteers and the work was easy for them. Other colleagues from our company also participated in the implementation: Ladislav Gondoľ, Imrich Hanzeľ, Marián Lipták, Marek Deák, Martin Juhasz.

The playground was ceremoniously opened on September 3, and the children were immediately happy to try it out.
