Kosice, April 5, 2005 - Textile works of Margita Hanakova already represent the tenth exhibition of U. S. Steel Kosice Gallery. After picture,
photograph or metal work exhibitions many-colored woven tapestries are thus getting space. But the authoress of the exhibition is also intimate with batik, aradecor or book illustration.
The opening of exhibits of her creative workshop is taking place on April 7, 2005 at 5:00 p.m. The exhibition is open to the public until April 29, 2005 on working days from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00
p.m.
Margita Hanakova's woving technique on original folk loom had been usually applied in all regions of the Slovak countryside in the past, but we meet it only
exceptionally today. She has presented her works at many exhibitions and we can find her works also in collections of Slovak museums. Authoress's textiles as a whole radiate thirst for harmonic
balance of the world, man and nature, which should create a counterweight to disturbing impulses of the contemporary estranged and over-mechanized world. She enhances the emotional impact desired
with color and gradational differentiation of various intensity shades.
