The five-day external audit of U. S. Steel Košice's quality management system in line with the  ISO/TS 16949:2009 and EN ISO 9001:2008 standards, which was carried out by the TÜV SÜD Slovakia certification company between May 9 - 13, confirmed once again the efficiency of the QM system implemented at USSK. This was the message from the concluding meeting between the auditors and the Company's top management.

The auditors appreciated the approach to work of the Company team along the whole chain of activity, from purchasing through final product shipping and customer technical service, which they termed excellent. In fact they said that CTS together with the work of our colleagues in USSE Research and Development were the two high points of the audit. The standard of communication with customers was highly praised by CTS chief auditor Vlastimil Pokorný, not just as far as the system is concerned, but also in terms of actual day-to-day work, and he identified this department's activity as a huge competitive advantage for the Company. He had words of acknowledgment for the research team as well, who in his opinion have deep understanding of the complex relations between technology, customer requirements and delivery of materials.
