For the first time, U. S. Steel Košice has been hosting the European Blast Furnace Committee (EBFC) meeting. The 92th annual EBFC meeting was held on July 12-14, 2017 in Košice with attendance of eighteen experts throughout Europe.   As Mr. Jaroslav Čurilla - the USSK Manager Process Transformation and Improvement - told us, a purpose of the above meeting is exchange of technical information referring to the various expert topics. This time, a lining of chutes in the BF cast houses and assessment of performance of these linings in terms of service life and consumption per ton of produced pig iron was the main topic.
