The first two months of every year are devoted to the Winter-sports Games for U. S. Steel Košice employees, during which the ice hockey championships are held in the Steel Arena, cross-country skiing races up at Kojšovská hoľa and giant slalom competitions for adults and children up at Jahodná.

The grand 20th anniversary edition of these Games starts off on Monday, January 11, at the Steel Arena with ice-hockey teams from the steelworks divisions competing to become USSK Champions and win the Company President's Travelling Cup. Then if things go according to plan on Saturday, January 23, the cross-country skiing races should take place at Kojšovská hoľa. In the case of unfavorable snow conditions the organizers will announce an alternative date as early as possible.

The third in this series of winter-sports events is planned for another Saturday, February 6, at Jahodná, with giant slalom races for employees' children between the ages of five and eighteen, and snowboard and giant slalom competitions for the adults.
