One of the places where we helped during the Volunteer Days was the Forrest Gump Club, where adults with disabilities meet. This place was part of our volunteer event for the eighth time. As in the past, it was taken under their wing by members of the trade union OZ KOVO.

For more than a year, the club has been reconstructing the premises on its own, which it acquired for a preferential rent from the city of Košice. They will be used by clients during weekly stays. This time, our volunteers painted the external fencing and the roof structure above the entrance and washed the windows and external glass doors in the entire station. Another group was arranging the terrain for the future parking lot. The old concrete panels were removed from the former sidewalk and moved to a new location.

"The natural tradition of cooperation continued where people need it, based on the volunteer tradition, also because natural selflessness is rooted in us, that we can work with enthusiasm in other environments. Tested by the warmth of the sun's rays, we proved it this time as well. When leaving the premises of the Forrest Gump Club, there was a great mood, there was also a warm smile from the feeling of fulfilling the set tasks," said Juraj Varga from OZ KOVO.

"Together, we managed to do everything we had planned. We are grateful," added the director of the Forrest Gump Club, Lucia Tažiková.
