They have done a lot of work in the center area. The space in front of the entrance to the center was beautified by Dušana Takáčová, Martina Kováčová, Peter Tulenko, Peter Lonc and other colleagues. They also cleaned the surroundings, added ornamental stones, modified the hedge and planted new flowers.
Anna Pastyrčák, Dušan Opršal and colleagues from CDR took care of the modification of the sensory trail. They removed self-seeded trees from its surroundings and also cleaned the trap gutters behind the nearby building.
The fencing of the area also received a new coat of paint. The work with paint and brushes went by Dominika Cuprišinová, Marcela Krištofčíková, Mária Kurucová, Yuliya Zaydel and others.
The spades and shovels were taken up by the brothers Tomáš and Jakub Jack, Tomáš Kučera and Ján Malajter when planting the trees. Our new colleague from Nippon Steel, Yuki Nagai, who moved to Košice only a few weeks ago, took care of the good mood in the team.
Rastislav Tomčík and Marek Blaško were in charge of cleaning the sidewalks from the trimmed greenery and its removal. The wheelbarrows were happily "operated" by children from CDR, who helped a lot in beautifying the area that is their home.
Mike Piekut and Isao Takenami also came to greet the volunteers. The director of the center for children and families, Silvia Komorová, did not break the tradition and this time she treated the temporary workers to a delicious Moravian cake.
"We managed to do a lot during the day. The result was visible literally at every step – the environment of the center changed significantly for the better in a few hours. However, the most important thing was not only what we did, but also how. The whole day was held in a friendly atmosphere, people helped each other and it was felt that everyone wanted to put their hand to work. It was not about performance, but about the fact that we are doing something good together," said Peter Lonc, who coordinated the brigade at CDR for USSK for the second time.
