On Saturday, May 30, the premises of the Center for Children and Families on Hurbanova Street in Košice (CDR) will have a slightly livelier atmosphere than on other days. The usual hustle and bustle will be replaced by work tools - brushes, shovels, wheelbarrows, work gloves. And above all, people who have decided to devote their time to a good cause. It is on this date  that the volunteer event Steelmakers for Košice 2026  will take place  as part of our corporate Volunteer Days. Together, we will embark on work that makes sense and has an immediate result.

The goal will be to help the Center for Children and Families create a more beautiful, functional and safer environment for children and young people who spend every day here.

What can be done in one day?

The plan is ambitious and we will definitely not be bored. We will gradually beautify the entire area by planting flowers, arranging the hedge and planting new trees and fruit trees. The educational trail will get a new dress, gazebo and climbing frames paint, and together we will clean and modify the areas behind the building and around the playground.

And in case the weather surprised us, we are ready to paint indoors. Last year, this plan proved to be successful, so we are not going to get easily surprised by anything.

Volunteer Day is not about performance or who has what skills. It is about cooperation, willingness to put your hand to work and do something for the community. Every help counts, especially in such a large area as CDR Hurbanova. It is one of the few facilities that provides continuous professional nursing and care care and at the same time educational activities for children and young adults with various types of health disadvantages.

Do not hesitate to come and spend a day with us that will bring a visible change to the environment where they live. By working together, we can do more than it seems.
